Stronger public health care for 2021!

NationBuilder r1

Paov --

Thanks to your support, the year 2020 brought our most historic victory yet! It was also a year of extreme pressure to our public health care system.

We are gearing up for another full year of work defending and strengthening public health care in 2021. It has never been clearer that a strong public health care system is essential during the pandemic and at all times. Will you help us meet our full potential in 2021 by making a year-end gift to the BC Health Coalition?

DONATE

We have accomplished so much with your help this year, including:

  • Defeating Brian Day in the BC Supreme Court. Read more about this historic victory HERE.
Already, Dr. Day and his supporters are already preparing their appeal process. They have also recently been granted an injunction stopping the provincial government from enforcing the rules that protect universal access to...

UPDATE A seat at the table: First gathering of BC's new Community Health Centre Partnership Table moves us one step closer to a meaningful community of practice

A new provincial Community Health Centre (CHC) Partnership Table had its first gathering this November. Bringing together an unusually broad cross-section of community and government stakeholders, the partnership table is a recognition of the power of community collaboration. “This important milestone is the result of dedicated work by the BC Association of Community Health Centres (BCACHC), our Coalition and many other community partners,” says Edith MacHattie, one of BCHC’s representatives at the table.

Representatives from the BCACHCs, the BC Health Coalition, the BC Rural Health Network, and the Community Alliance of Racialized Ethnocultural Services (CARES) for Equitable Health, as well as patients of CHCs and providers who work at CHCs, determined to work together to grow the CHC model in BC. According to Marcy Cohen, another BCHC representative at...

Have you seen "ASOG - Feature Film (Post-production funding)"?

Hello PAOV,

I just donated to this GoFundMe, https://www.gofundme.com/f/asog-feature-film?utm_source=customer&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=m_pd+share-sheet. Would you be interested in supporting it too?

Even a small donation could help Sean Devlin 叶 世民 reach their fundraising goal. And if you can't make a donation, it would be great if you could share the fundraiser to help spread the word.

Thanks for taking a look!

This new evidence could be the last nail in the coffin for Trans Mountain ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌

In the last 10 days, two damning reports came out that could be the final nail in the coffin for the Trans Mountain pipeline.

Last week the Canadian government’s own oil regulator did the math and confirmed that the Trans Mountain pipeline is not only inconsistent with Canada’s climate commitments, but actually completely unnecessary.

To complete the one-two punch, the United Nations (UN) then released an alarming report revealing that governments around the world must slash fossil fuel production by 6% per year before 2030 to have any hope of keeping their Paris climate commitments. That means no
