Hey PAOV,
There is only 24 hours left to take action. We need your help to support the millions of refugees around the world who find themselves living in countries or circumstances that mean their children cannot attend school regularly, or at all.
Take action now to tell the Canadian Government to send a strong message at the World Humanitarian Summit in Istanbul by committing $75M to education in emergencies.

A tiny community sitting on a 27-square-mile piece of Western Pennsylvania wanted to send a big message to the energy company planning to deposit toxic fracking wastewater under its neighborhoods. And its 700 residents wanted it to be perfectly legal for them to loudly object.

Brussels, 17 May 2016 (ITUC OnLine): The US/Colombia Trade Promotion Agreement is being tested in a landmark case in the US brought by Colombian and US trade unions, which details the consistent failure of the Colombian government to fulfil its obligations to respect international labour standards and protect workers from violence, abuse and exploitation. The case, lodged with the US government, will be a key test of the value of labour clauses in the TPA and other international trade pacts. It cites two of the more serious examples - a four-year campaign of violence and intimidation by Canadian-based multinational Pacific Rubiales against its 12-thousand strong workforce, and sugar company Ingenio La Cabaña, which has a similar track record.

Zuma's Denialism and Betrayal
Zwelinzima Vavi
South African President Jacob Zuma's budget speech delivered on 4 May 2016 was yet another missed opportunity to look the South African public in the eye and be frank about the challenges our country is facing. This president and the government he leads are in a state of shocking denial about the worsening and unfolding crisis happening under their watch. They simply refuse to acknowledge the level of our people's suffering.
The president's Budget Vote speech would make even the most committed loyalist ask themselves how the government can arrive at the conclusion that all is well and under control when it is clearly not. If the government took notice of its own information, its own statistics, and...

Friends,
Yesterday, more than 800 people surrounded the Kinder Morgan terminal facility in Metro-Vancouver, from both the land and the water, as part of Break Free. Here's what the day looked like:
On the water, we staged a breathtaking kayak flotilla, swarming and surrounding the Kinder Morgan facility. Upon reaching the containment boom, dozens of us crossed over to the other side and occupied the tanker terminal for the pipeline. We left our mark by leaving behind ribbons adorned with our messages for justice.
On the land, a dazzling crowd marched our bold 'keep it on the ground' message to the gates of the Kinder Morgan facility, where we risked arrest by attaching locks -- carrying hand-written messages for justice...

Friends,
Right now, hundreds of people are taking action to Break Free from fossil fuels in Vancouver -- we will surrounded the Kinder Morgan pipeline facility on the land and the water. A giant flotilla of 300 kayaks is on its way to swarming the tanker terminal for the pipeline -- and soon, hundreds of people will march to the facility on the land and stage a sit-in outside the gates.
This action is taking place days before the National Energy Board announces its decision on the pipeline and we are adamant to have the last word. We, the people, are willing to do anything to protect the Salish Coast -- and our climate from the ravages of the tar sands.

It's on. The government just kicked off its process to change the way we vote in elections by announcing a special committee to study voting reform.
It’s the moment we’ve been waiting for since the last election - a chance to finally replace our broken first-past-the-post voting system with one where every vote counts.
