Yesterday I did an interview with the CBC’s BC Today radio show about the Canadian Institute for Health Information’s (CIHI) latest report on wait times in Canada. [1]
The good news is that BC is one of the few provinces where wait times are going down for surgeries such as hip and knee replacements, radiation therapy, and cataract surgery.
After years of calling for action on wait times, your work is paying off.
Almost exactly one year ago, the BC Government announced its surgical strategy that included many of the solutions BCHC members like you have been calling for.[2] We are already beginning to see results.[3]
