PAOV- Code of Conduct - Citizens Press is an open platform for expression on all the issues that concerns the People’s Assembly of Victoria and the global occupy movements, it is the responsibility of the contributors to uphold the code of conduct.

Our values are inclusivity, empowerment, awareness, creativity, community, diversity and respect. 

We will remove posts that have been reported and determined as are derogatory, intolerant, racist, sexist, intentionally malicious, bigotry and overtly counterproductive.

Removed posts will be given the opportunity to edit, resubmit and meet our code of conduct.

Global Talk with Dr. Robert Dover

What: The legislative borders of urban health policies: the impact of differentiated health regimens

Date: Wednesday, September 16th

Time: 10:30-12:00

Where: Sedgewick C168

The Borders in Globalization project and The Centre for Global Studies co-host a special Global Talk next week with Dr. Robert Dover, an associate professor of anthropology at the Universidad de Antioquia in Medellín, Colombia. His recent research has focused on the protected right to health, and the social, legislative, economic and political impediments that interfere with that right, especially in vulnerable urban and rural populations in Colombia. He has also participated in health-related projects in Cape Town, South Africa, regarding urban space and health, and the social determinants of obesity.

Tea, coffee, and light snacks will be served.

[evoz] Gerd Weih

Dear Friends and members of CASC, Gerd Weih died after a short illness a week ago.He was an active member of CASC for many years. Gerd had a long and fruitful life. He healed many people and brought hundreds of babies into o the world. His commitment to social justice and peace in Latin America took us from the jungles of Chiapas to elections in El Salvador to refugee camps and clandestine meeting with Guatemalan resisters during the war there. Gerd volunteered as a doctor in the Contra war zone in Nicaragua and also picked coffee co-op there. He was active in Tools for Peace and just before his death he ordered and started to bag a fresh roast of CASC’s Cafe Simpatico – work that Tm & I will continue. I am fortunate to be surrounded by dear friends and family who are caring for me at this difficult time. By continuing to work...
