A new kind of climate movement

In Canada, a new kind of climate movement is emerging. One that recognizes the roots of our struggles and tries to stop it at the source. It's time to call for real climate leadership - to call on our government to stop digging and start building a new kind of future.

It's time to mobilize as a passionate and empowered youth climate movement to stand together for a just transition to a clean energy economy. Will you join us?

On Saturday, July 4th, from British Columbia to Nova Scotia, communities will rally to declare that we, the people, are ready for a new economy; that we are greater than the tar sands. Click here to find an action near you.

On Sunday, July 5th, we are joining a growing coalition to stage the most diverse climate action ever to take place in Canada. We will take to the streets of downtown Toronto to March for Jobs, Justice and the Climate.

Will you join us for an action on July 4th or the March for Jobs, Justice and the Climate on July 5th?

Checking in about the Liberal MPs vote on C-51

NationBuilder r1 Paov --

You’re getting this email because you've indicated that you’d be interested in volunteering with us on the Vote Together campaign.

In other words, you’re the eyes, ears and beating heart of a campaign to bring people together across party lines to finally end 10 years of the Harper government.

Recently, we’ve heard from many people in the Leadnow community who are disappointed about the decision of Liberals MPs to vote for Bill C-51, despite their grave concerns about the bill, while promising to amend it if elected. We’ve also heard from many people, including allies and grassroots groups, who want them to commit to repeal the bill, not just amend it.

As one of Leadnow’s most active members, we want to know what you’re thinking.

Click here to take a 5-question survey about the Liberals MPs’ C-51 vote and the Vote Together...

Week of education and action - Street Deaths are Preventable Deaths (June 16 - 19)

{please distribute widely - apologies for cross-postings!}

On June 16 – 19, join us for a week of education and action to end poverty-related deaths in BC.

Between 2006 and 2013, at least 281 people have died on the streets in British Columbia. Due to under-reporting, that number is likely much much higher.

Victoria has the highest number of street deaths per capita in BC. In a four month period, 30 people died on the streets of this city.
