BCSEA launches Cool It! Climate Leadership Training
BCSEA is proud to announce Cool It! Climate Leadership Training. Cool It! is the successor to BCSEA’s previous elementary education program, Climate Change Showdown. BCSEA has redesigned and redeveloped the Climate Change Showdown program and cannot wait to bring the new, revamped Cool It! program to classrooms across British Columbia.
The new Cool It! program, still geared towards students in grades 4 to 7, will empower young people to become sustainability champions through a fun and engaging, classroom-based workshop and a four-week, take-home challenge.
Improvements to the program include newly developed, exciting games, updated classroom materials and engaging,...

We have just finished the first day of the trial for Cambie Vs BC trial.
From what we heard today, Brian Day's lawyers are going to do all they can to convince the court that a two-tier system would benefit Canada.
But as an economist on CTV pointed out today, it is "Day [who] stands to 'benefit significantly' from privatized health care." [1] Evidence shows that the legal changes Day is suggesting would actually make wait times longer for most people, and many of us would not be able to afford care.
We're going to do all we can over the next 6 months to...

Paov --
Thanks to generous people like you, we raised the $6000 we needed to have our lawyers in court for the crucial first two weeks of trial.
This week, we've also been able to focus public attention on the threat this case poses to Canada's health care system. Check out some of our coverage so far (listed and linked below), share it with your friends and family, and stay tuned for more as we go to trial next week.
Thank you for being part of the fight to keep quality health care accessible to all.

Harper resigned today.

This morning Stephen Harper resigned from politics. He leaves with a multimillion dollar pension and his eyes set on the corporate sector.
Back in 2011 we started ShitHarperDid.com with fellow comedians and artists because we saw that many of our peers were not interested in Canadian politics. Four years later voter turnout among people 18-24 increased from 39% to 57%. We can’t take too much credit for this but we know that our creative actions and viral hijinx over the years definitely played a role in this generational shift.
None of this would have been possible without your support, so today I’m writing you to say thanks and give you an update on our plans for the future. But first here’s an update on what we’ve been up to the last few months. Warning: it’s pretty boring!
