Amnesty International, Victoria chapter and Social Justice Studies UVic Present:

Corey Levine, author of Amnesty International’s report on the threats and violence experienced by Afghan women’s rights defenders. The report, Their Lives on the Line. Women Human Rights Defenders under Attack in Afghanistan had its global launch earlier today in Kabul. Ms. Levine will be giving a presentation on her research and findings of the report on April 28 at 7 pm @ Cornett B107 UVic.

Ms. Levine has extensive experience in conflict zones and is a dynamic advocate for women’s rights.

When Premier Christy Clark came to visit the Ktunaxa Nation Government Building last summer, she was all smiles. It was the first time we hosted a premier in our new government building. We had recently purchased the former headquarters of a forestry company that was bought out and no longer operates in our territory. There were smiles, handshakes and photos, too, and while we were not able to discuss anything substantive, we had a forum for discussions.

The framework agreement the U.S. and its international partners reached with Iran that blocks Tehran's pathways to building a nuclear bomb is barely a week old and yet the usual suspects have already denounced it as a "bad deal."

What do Bolton, Netanyahu, Graham and a whole host of others in Washington opposing this deal have in common? They were passionate supporters and pushers of the Iraq war.
