Friends,
The new film Disobedience about the global movement to break free from fossil fuels is now available for free download and streaming at watchdisobedience.com!
The film is a powerful journey, featuring Break Free organizers in Canada, Germany, Turkey and the Philippines as they prepare to mobilize for major actions this May. It shows that the global movement to keep fossil fuels in the ground is growing in size and courage.
Disobedience features author and activist Naomi Klein, 350.org co-founder Bill McKibben, as well as board member Lidy Nacpil and dozens of inspiring voices from front-line fights around the world.
It's about 40 minutes long, and I think it makes for inspiring watching ahead of the Break Free wave of action starting a few days from now. Click here to stream or download the movie for free, or find a community screening near...

Last week, PM Trudeau signed the Paris climate agreement and announced public consultations with town halls across the country to create a national climate plan that could be strong enough to make a real difference.
We know fossil fuel lobbyists are working behind closed doors to push for new oil pipelines and a weak climate plan. That’s why we need to show up and speak up to make climate action work for people and the planet.

The Attack on Democracy and Secularism in India
Raju Das
There are things. And there are conditions of existence of things. In India, as in all countries of the world, many social problems exist. Close to 700 million Indians do not have access to food that will provide the minimum number of calories required for a healthy life. In other words, there is a massive amount of absolute poverty. And then there are conditions of existence of problems such as poverty. These conditions include not only anti-poor economic policies of a government but also anti-democratic measures which stop people from fighting against poverty, in a united and effective way. These measures include those that divide up the masses along lines of religion and crush dissent...
