Although his physical presence may not be amongst us any longer his teachings with his examples of building a better life on our planet for everyone everywhere will remain with humanity for a long time to come. His love for building a world without hunger, wars, injustice, sickness, ignorance or any kind of oppression and dedicating his whole life to it has really been incredible to witness. Such a great leader, a great revolutionary, a great teacher, a great man, humanity will always have to look up to.
In the coming days many tears will fall from everywhere for such a man who did so much with so little for the Cuban people and for so many others...

Dear Supporters,
The Women’s Boat to Gaza was a great success. Although the Amal II was unable to sail due to technical difficulties and the Zaytouna was hijacked by the Israeli Navy before reaching the shores of Gaza, the campaign had amazing media coverage which helped break the media silence that surrounds the Israeli blockade. Details of the sailing and media articles can be seen here: http://canadaboatgaza.org/news/international-media-coverage/
Thank you so much for your donations and your help in spreading the word about the Women’s Boat to Gaza. The success of the campaign depended on your help, and we are grateful that you came through so generously.

The Academic Women’s Caucus is sponsoring a panel for Thursday evening and really welcomes the public. Audience participation will be highly encouraged.
People are stunned, confused, and scared. Divisive, racist, sexist, and xenophobic rhetoric permeated the 2016 US Presidential Election and the first days after. As preparations for a Republican administration begin, we will discuss how election rhetoric affected marginalized groups and what the political climate, a Republican-controlled Congress, and Trump’s presidency could mean for the future of marginalized groups in the United States.
Join gender studies, political science, and history scholars on November 24 for this panel and discussion sponsored by the UVic Academic Women’s Caucus.

Dear Friend,
Young people across British Columbia need your help to receive much-needed climate change education! Share your passion for climate action by supporting Cool It! Climate Leadership Training this giving season.
The Cool It! Climate Leadership Training program develops and empowers young sustainability champions, in grades 4 to 7, to reduce their carbon footprint. These fun and interactive environmental workshops build on students’ knowledge of climate change, and the take-home challenge encourages families to take simple yet impactful actions to reduce energy consumption, leading to life-long behaviour change.
By helping us raise $5,000, your support will assist us in developing a promotional video to engage regional sponsors, promote the program to teachers, and bring general awareness of the program to the public. Through this campaign,...
