PAOV — Thousands of litres of good milk are being dumped so that the Canadian Dairy Commission can enforce milk quotas that keep prices high. Rather than be donated to food banks or shelters, farmers must discard any milk that is over their allowed quota.

Last week Enbridge’s CEO flew in from Texas to lecture Canadian politicians about building more oil and gas pipelines.
When talking about Canada not having a single gas export terminal, he said (with a straight face) that it’s our “global responsibility” to export LNG.

PAOV — Lillian Nanyanzi is a human rights activist and mother of 4 who arrived in Canada from Uganda in 2019. Her permanent residence application, based on humanitarian and compassionate grounds, is still pending and her deportation was recently ordered. If Lillian is deported to Uganda, she’s at risk of homophobic-fueled attacks for her work with the LGBTQ community. Event video: How to correspond with people in jails
We're pleased to share this video of a virtual event held by Canadian Friends Service Committee (the national peace and social justice agency of Quakers in Canada) and WriteOn! (an all volunteer group that supports people in prisons and jails through correspondence).
The hour-long video was recorded in December 2022 and features two presentations. The speakers explain the history of correspondence with people in prisons and jails, why correspondence matters both for those inside jails and those on the outside, and how you can get involved. Have a look.
