A,
PayPal will not serve Palestinians living in Israeli-occupied West Bank and the Gaza Strip. Yet PayPal serves Israelis living in the illegal settlements in the very same locations.
So far, over 200,000 SumOfUs members have signed the petition calling on PayPal to end this blatant discrimination. The Incredible Hulk (aka. Hollywood superstar Mark Ruffalo) has shared our petition causing it to go viral. And thanks to our friends 7amleh, the campaign has gotten press hits worldwide.
The pressure is building but we need to keep up the heat on PayPal. So, you’re invited to an exclusive webinar about PayPal’s discrimination and the next steps of our campaign.
Come along to hear from incredible speakers:
- Linda Sarsour, executive director of MPower Change and co-chair of the largest single day protest in US history, the Women’s March ;

4x worse the Exxon Valdez
- Details

A,
A decaying oil tanker off the coast of Yemen could spew a MILLION barrels of oil into the Red Sea. That’s four times the oil spilled by Exxon Valdez!
It’s a ticking time bomb that could be the biggest environmental catastrophe in history, but no one is talking about it. And the United Nations can’t scrape together enough donations to clean it up before disaster strikes.
We’re going to change that.
If thousands of us come together to create a citizen cleanup fund, then campaign to demand our governments match our donations 100:1, we can help get the UN the money they need to start the clean up straight away.
We have no time to spare – experts say they have to start within weeks or it might be too late.
A, can you give $88 to help stop this ticking time bomb?
The “six most chilling words” of the Jan. 6 investigation (update)

Two weeks ago, The Intercept broke the story about missing Secret Service text messages from the January 6 insurrection.
Since then, questions about the Secret Service’s role on January 6 have only multiplied.
Here’s what we know: In December 2019, President Donald Trump appointed a high-ranking Secret Service official named Tony Ornato to an unprecedented, highly political role as deputy White House chief of staff.
Fast forward to January 6, 2021. As rioters attacked the Capitol, Ornato reportedly informed Vice President Mike Pence’s staff that Secret Service agents would relocate Pence to Joint Base Andrews in Maryland, which would have prevented him from certifying Joe Biden’s victory in the presidential election.
Pence refused to go, telling his Secret Service detail, “I’m not getting in the car....

Paov,
Iron & Earth worked with Desmond Bull from the Louis Bull Tribe to develop two community-based rapid upskilling programs for fossil fuel industry and Indigenous workers: a 10-day solar program and a 10-day wind energy program. These programs include five days of in-class work and five days of hands-on training, which involves the installation of a small solar and wind energy system. The programs are now finished, and we are ready to deliver the Community Solar Skills and Community Wind Skills Programs in partnership with Maskwacis Cultural College!
We are currently accepting applications from fossil fuel industry and Indigenous workers based in Maskwacis and the surrounding area with an interest in learning the skills needed to participate in wind energy system project design, installation and maintenance.
Thanks to the generous contributions of a number of funders, the Community Wind Skills Program will be available at no cost to the participants.

This summer, a record number of people across the country are hitting the roads and taking to the skies for long-awaited holidays.
We understand that people need a break after two long years in the pandemic. But over the last two months, donations to our hard-hitting journalism have taken a hit — and if we don’t pull ahead soon, we could end up behind for the rest of the year.
This couldn’t be happening at a worse time: We’re ramping up our reporting on critical issues, as the nation reels from a Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade and gears up for a midterm election that could see huge gains for the far right.

BREAKING: Trudeau weighs deadline extension for Big Oil

Friends,
The Trudeau government is poised to give Canada’s oil and gas industry an extra two years to meet the already-weak 2030 emissions reduction target they set for the sector.1
It’s infuriating. As we live through another summer of climate chaos, with heat waves smashing temperature records around the world, Big Oil continues to use their power and wealth to push fossil fuel expansion, and our government seems all-too-willing to back them up.
This ongoing delay in the face of an escalating crisis is exactly why we launched Our Stories: Living Through Climate Disaster last week. It’s a website where you can share how the climate crisis is affecting you and your community right now. Together, out first-hand stories of the unfolding climate emergency have the power to cut through Big Oil’s delay tactics.
It’s been incredibly moving to hear the stories you’ve shared so far. While fossil fuel executives try once again to stall climate action, we’re directly countering their...

A,
I’m Vicky and I’m a campaign director with SumOfUs, and for the past year I’ve been coordinating our work to rein in the power of Big Tech companies.
The fight for a better, safer internet is a long-haul one. But there’s no doubt we’re making major progress – in the last few months alone we’ve seen huge breakthroughs, from a legislative triumph in Europe to getting Meta’s harmful business model firmly on investors’ agenda. And none of it would have happened without you.
Together we’re taking huge strides to hold giant tech corporations like Meta and Google to account and push back against their harmful practices. And we want to make sure you know about the amazing work you’ve made possible! So here’s some highlights from the year so far:
Regulation at last!
In April, after months of wrangling, European legislators finally agreed to pass a strong internet law – the Digital Services Act. It’s hard to overstate the importance of this legislation, which will be the first in the world to truly rein in the power of the tech giants and be a blueprint for governments everywhere.
While it doesn’t include everything we campaigned for, the law brings in powerful new...

PAOV — Insulin can be the difference between life and death for those with diabetes, but many Canadians pay thousands of dollars every year for this life-saving medication. Petition starter Cullen lives with Type 1 diabetes and believes insulin should be available free of cost for all Canadians. The federal government has promised a national pharmacare program that would make medication like insulin more accessible, but they are yet to deliver on their promise. More than 168,000 people have signed Cullen’s petition to make insulin free — you can add your name today.

Your place for news and action
Coastal GasLink isn’t the only pipeline planned through the Skeena river watershed. There are three more projects in the works, including Enbridge’s Westcoast Connector Gas Transmission line.

Wet’suwet’en chiefs have called an urgent meeting of allies starting this Wednesday, July 27, to...
