Hi PAOV,
BCSEA is passionate about providing opportunities to gather, and to learn how to uncover innovative ways of looking at BC's sustainable energy challenges. Our annual conference, Energy Connections, does just that.
Last year, Energy Connections 2017 received great feedback from attendees. They said it was an important opportunity to gain informative insights for building communities of action to tackle issues and to explore solutions that ensure sustainable energy in BC. We invite you to read about it in the Energy Connections 2017 Summary Report.
We wrapped up Energy Connections 2017 with a survey asking delegates for the top transportation issues on the horizon, and it seems there is a lot of ground to cover! This year, Energy Connections 2018 will examine clean transportation. With innovations in technology and a strong push for a...

REQUESTS:
Support the urban Indigenous led fight against colonialism and homelessness at Saanich tent city
Canada’s housing crisis exposes and carries on colonial legacies by disproportionately impacting Indigenous people in Canada. In rural settings and urban centres, Indigenous people experience overcrowding and illness from poorly constructed homes, and racism and discrimination when seeking and maintaining housing. Over half of the population of Indigenous people in Canada live in urban centres, and in the nation’s major cities, Indigenous people make up between 30-50% of the homeless population. In the sixth major tent city to pop up in BC in under 3 years, Chrissy Brett, a Nuxalk woman and camp founder, leads a political fight against colonial dispossession and capitalist...

Toronto Book Launch of Free Public Transit: And Why We Don't Pay to Ride Elevators

"We don’t pay for elevators, do we? And rightly so. The very idea is preposterous. Yet the public transit system plays the same role in the city, only sideways," argues the author Jason Prince, a Montreal urban planner and social economy expert.

Dear PAOV,
Thousands of Leadnow members have already told us to go all in to win proportional representation (PR) for BC this fall -- but we still haven’t heard from you. do you want Leadnow to launch the biggest campaign we’ve ever run in BC to help win PR for our province?
BC's referendum on electoral reform is a once in a lifetime opportunity to usher in a new kind of politics to BC, and we can’t afford to let anti-PR pundits trying to cling on to our current system jeopardize this chance to upgrade our democracy.
We have until June 8 to save Tetrahedron Park

The federal government has decided to bail out oil giant Kinder Morgan. Help us fight back.
Dear PAOV,
On Tuesday evening, less than 12 hours after Trudeau’s government announced it was using billions of tax dollars to buy Kinder Morgan’s leaky 65-year old pipeline, thousands rallied in Vancouver, reminding Trudeau that we’re still standing strong against his dangerous pipeline and tanker project — and in fact, his actions just increased our resolve. More targeted demonstrations and protests are being planned in the days to come.
Stand.earth continues to play a key role in the movement against this pipeline. Click here to keep us in the fight.
